Virgin Mobile is the UK’s largest Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). Originally established in 1999, Virgin Mobile was the world’s first MVNO and is now part of the larger Virgin Media communications group.
Virgin Mobile was originally known for its low cost prepaid deals but now focuses on offering bundled mobile phone services to customers who use other Virgin Media services such as TV and broadband.
Virgin Mobile services make use of EE’s network infrastructure. That means that its phones connect to EE transmitters and there isn’t a separate Virgin Mobile network. If you get a strong EE signal in your house, there will be a strong Virgin Mobile signal as well.
Virgin Mobile phones, contracts and SIM cards are sold through the Virgin Media website and a range of shops and kiosks in various shopping malls and city centre high streets across the UK.
