O2 is one of the UK’s longest established mobile phone networks. Originally known as Cellnet, the company was de-merged from BT in 2002 and was later purchased by the Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica.
O2 is well known for its O2 Priority rewards scheme which offers a range of discounts and other incentives to its customers. These are available to contract and pre-pay customers via the O2 Priority app. Customers can also enjoy early access to tickets for events at the O2 in London and O2 Academy venues across the UK.
O2 also offers the majority of customers access to its network of O2 wifi hotspots across the UK. This offers high-speed internet access in cafés, bars, restaurants and other venues across the UK.
O2 sells its phones and services through the O2 website, a large network of retail stores and phone resellers such as the Carphone Warehouse.
