Different phone tariffs can be incredibly confusing, and although the law changed in July 2015 to ensure that people could access 0800 numbers free of charge from their mobile phones, it is still hard for people to know where they stand with 0844 numbers. The charges are not broken down in a simple manner, but thankfully are the same across to board.
How much does it cost to call an 0844 number on EE?
When you are calling up an 0844 number on a mobile phone, there are two different charges:
Access charge
The access charge is what EE will charge you for actually making the call. This is the same as what you pay per minute for local numbers, and this is the sam if you are on a pay as you go or a pay monthly tariff.
Service charge
The service charge is what the actual company of the premium number charge you. This added to the access charge is the total is what you will be charged per minute.
