Figuring out the charges that Freedompop makes for specific numbers can be confusing. Freedompop is not a standard phone operator, but rather a VoIP service that offers minutes instead. This means that you’re not charged a certain amount per minute to make a phone call.
Calls to the 0808 Freephone number are blocked on the ‘Free’ tariff, but are allowed if you are using one of the paid tariffs, in which case they will come out of your standard monthly allowance. If you are looking to make calls to a number that is blocked on your tariff, it may be worth searching for an alternative local number instead.
Cost of calling 0808 numbers on FreedomPop
FreedomPop does not charge by call, or by minute – but simply takes calls out of a monthly minutes allowance for each user. Calls to 0808 numbers will simply be taken out of this allowance – and if you have used up your monthly minutes, you will simply have to add another charge onto your account rather than paying by minute.
Unfortunately, there are some numbers that are unable to be called in this allowance: 0843, 0844, 0845, 0870, 0871, and 0872 numbers all fall under this bracket. FreedomPop customers are therefore currently unable to call these numbers according to the latest information we have available. They are therefore advised to look for an alternative number.
