0871 numbers are used by companies and others providers who offer services over the phone. These numbers are premium “service numbers,” and costs higher than normal landlines rates. These numbers are not also not tied down to any specific geographic area.
0871 numbers are commonly used by event ticket and booking services, tarot and horoscope service, adult entertainment services, and various other similar services. Since customers who call 0871 numbers pay a premium, the organisation being called or the telephone company generates additional income from these numbers.

Cost of calling 0871 numbers on FreedomPop
FreedomPop does not charge by call, or by minute – but simply takes calls out of a monthly minutes allowance for each users. Unfortunately, there are some numbers that are unable to be called in this allowance: 0843, 0844, 0845, 0870, 0871, and 0872 numbers all fall under this bracket. FreedomPop customers are therefore currently unable to call these numbers according to the latest information we have available. They are therefore advised to look for an alternative number.
