EE Costs explained
Calls to 0345 numbers are charged the same as calls to standard UK landlines ie. 01 or 02 numbers. The actual cost depends on the type of EE plan you have and whether your inclusive minutes cover these calls. EE’s 2025 pricing information confirms that 0345 numbers are treated as standard-rate numbers, so they will either fall within your allowance or be billed at EE’s published access charges.
If you have ‘Inclusive Minutes’
If your EE mobile plan includes minutes to UK landlines, then calls to 0345 numbers are simply deducted from that allowance. As long as you have minutes remaining, you won’t pay anything extra. This actually applies to most pay-monthly, SIM-only and many PAYG bundles. Only certain older or highly restricted plans may exclude 034 numbers, so if you’re unsure, it’s wise to check your plan details.
If you do not have ‘Inclusive Minutes’ (or have run out)
When your allowance is empty, or if your plan does not include calls to landline numbers, EE charges its standard access rate for these calls. In 2025, the out-of-allowance rate for calling 0345 numbers on EE is:
- Pay-monthly / SIM-only: approx 93p per minute
- Pay-as-you-go: approx 44p per minute
- EE Home Phone: approx 12p per minute (unless your home phone plan includes UK landline calls)
These are the rates EE publishes for non-inclusive national-rate calls and apply to 0345 numbers because they fall under the same pricing category as 01/02.
How 0345 numbers are classified
All 03 numbers (including 0345) are classed as standard UK-wide numbers. Regulations require networks to charge them at the same rate as geographic landlines. This prevents providers from treating them as premium-rate or applying higher service charges. Despite this, your exact cost still depends on your tariff, as inclusive minutes and bundles differ across plans.
