What is VOXI and what are 01 Numbers?
In summary VOXI is a mobile provider running on the network of a major UK operator, offering SIM-only plans with unlimited calls, texts and data-bundles depending on plan.
- 01 numbers are standard UK geographic landline numbers commonly used by businesses and organisations, often as customer-service lines. Calls to these numbers are treated as standard national landline calls.

| Voicemail / VOXI & Vodafone internal calls | Internal network or voicemail calls | 30p per minute |

So, when are calls FREE with VOXI?
Most VOXI plans come with unlimited calls and texts included.
That means if you’re on one of these plans, calls to 01/02 landlines (and other standard UK numbers) are generally free – as you’re within the plan’s allowance.
If you’re on a legacy or pay-as-you-go style plan without inclusive minutes, the table above applies.
Why VOXI uses the ‘30p per minute rate’
- VOXI’s official call-charges list shows that ‘National, local (01, 02, 03) and other VOXI/Vodafone numbers’ are charged at 30p per minute when not covered by a plan.
- This rate applies equally to calls to standard landlines, mobiles and internal network calls when out-of-bundle.
So whether you call a landline or mobile, the same per-minute rate applies (unless you have a plan with unlimited calls).
Non-Geographic & Premium-Rate Numbers: What to know
Numbers beginning 08, 09, or 118 are not treated as standard landlines. They are ‘service numbers’ under UK regulation:
- VOXI charges an access charge (45p/min).
- The organisation you call adds a service charge, which they must publish where they display their number.
- That means costs can vary widely for 08/09/118 numbers, and callers should always check the total advertised cost.
This aligns with the UK regulatory framework for non-geographic and premium-rate numbers.
What this means for VOXI Customers:
- If you’re on a typical VOXI plan with unlimited calls: the vast majority of standard UK calls will be free.
- If you’re on a pay-as-you-go or bare-bones plan (without inclusive minutes): expect 30p per minute for standard calls.
- Calls to service or premium numbers may cost more (check the published “access + service charge) rate before dialling.
- For calls abroad or other special services (roaming, international numbers etc.), VOXI has separate charges or add-ons. So, it’s always worth checking before you dial.
