If you’re with Three Mobile and need to call a business, charity or public service using an 0300 number, the good news is that it’s still affordable even in 2025 – and in many cases, completely free.

So, what’s the deal with 0300 numbers

0300 numbers are non-geographic UK numbers, usually used by organisations like government departments, local councils, charities, and customer helplines. They were introduced by Ofcom to give these groups a fair, nationwide alternative to premium-rate lines.
When you call a 0300 number, it’s charged at the same rate as a normal landline call (that’s any number starting with 01 or 02). In other words, calling an 0300 number on Three Mobile will cost the same as calling your aunt in Manchester or your local pizza shop — provided you’re calling within your normal allowance.

Calling 0300 numbers on Three Mobile in 2025

If your Three plan includes UK landline minutes, then calls to 0300 numbers are completely free.

However, if you’ve run out of your included minutes (or you’re on a pay-as-you-go plan without any bundles), you’ll be charged the standard landline rate.

As of October 2025, this stands at around 3p per minute — one of the most competitive rates among the major UK networks.

Table: 2025 Cost to Call a 0300 Number on Three Mobile

Type of Three Mobile Plan Cost per minute Notes
Contract plan (within allowance) Free Covered by your inclusive UK minutes.
Contract plan (outside allowance) 3p per minute Charged once your included minutes run out.
Pay As You Go (no bundle) 3p per minute Same as a standard UK landline rate.
5G Home Broadband / Data-only plan N/A Voice calls are not supported unless via app or VoIP.

What’s Changed in 2025?

More transparency: Following Ofcom’s 2024 guidance, all UK mobile networks must clearly show whether 03 numbers are included in plans.
Bundle updates: Most new Three Mobile contracts launched in 2025 now list 03 numbers as “standard UK calls”, meaning no surprises on your bill.
WiFi calling growth: many people now use WiFi calling or VoIP apps (like WhatsApp, Zoom, or Skype) for customer service lines, saving on minutes entirely.
Stable pricing: Despite inflation, Three has largely kept rates flat, with only minor adjustments for pay-as-you-go users.

Quick Tip!

If you’re unsure whether your plan includes 0300 numbers, just open the Three app or dial 333 from your phone to speak with customer service. They can confirm what’s included in your plan — and help you avoid any unexpected charges.
