Numbers starting with 03 were introduced in 2007 to allow businesses to offer a single point of contact across the UK, with the same rates as normal 01 and 02 numbers attract. As such, a calling a 0370 number costs the same as a call to a normal home or business landlines.
Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator for telecommunication, has capped call charges to 0370 numbers at 9p per minute from landlines, and between 3p and 55p per minute from mobile phones.
FreedomPop offers VoIP plans, where subscribers pay for the data, and in return also receive free talk time. The basic free package, where subscribers do not have to pay anything offers 200 minutes of talk time per month, to any number, including 0370 numbers. Higher plans, starting at £10.99, all offer unlimited talk time to 0370 numbers, and all other UK numbers. The unlimited calls are subject to Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limits
