In the UK, 0345′ numbers are landline numbers used by government bodies, public sector organisations, and other businesses. Effective 13 June 2015, it is mandatory for all Government bodies to offer a ‘0345’ contact number as a helpline.
The difference between ‘0345’ and other traditional landline numbers that start with ’01’ or ’02’ is ‘0345’ numbers not being tied to any specific geographic location..
All numbers starting with ’03,’ including ‘0345’ numbers incur the same rates as standard landline numbers starting with ’01’ or ’02’ incur.
As such, if the phone tariff offers inclusive calls to landlines or landline call are included in the price plan, calls to ‘0345’ numbers will also be included in such package. If landline calls are not included in the package, these calls will attract standard landline rates.
When calling from VOXI, the standard tariff to call national and local landline numbers (’01,’ ’02,’ and ’03,’ including ‘0345’) is 30p per minute.
